Firefox 23 warning - no easy way to turn off JavaScript

Firefox 23 removes the Disable JavaScript box and all of the checkboxes that allowed you to control what JavaScript was able to do. To access them now you must use an add-on or edit about:config.

I consider this a very dirty deal. I routinely disable JavaScript to prevent surveys, lightboxes, access counters, and similar annoyances. I routinely disable JavaScript to prevent JavaScript from attempting to meddle with context menus and basic browser functions. Disable JavaScript is a necessity if you ever visit a Gannett newspaper site.

If you haven't been frogmarched into this already I recommend that you turn off automatic updates in Firefox, or abandon Firefox entirely. Looking for something else with the functionality of Linky, Bazzacuda, and DownThemAll.
