The process of learning to perceive "rape culture" in various news stories is identical to the process of learning how to read signs of Biblical end-times prophecy in news stories. You begin with axiomatic truth, and interpret all else to align with what you already know is true.

For instance, the real reason for Steubenville and Penn State isn't "rape culture", it's this:

I can more than see your point, but I disagree that "rape culture", or more like a subculture which condones rape, does not exist. I've seen and heard too much not to know it's real.
I am just skeptical of the whole mess; it sounds too much like the 'believe the victims' stuff from the ritual child abuse panic. It also seems that most of the "rape culture" anecdotes also involve sports stars, and that an alternative hypothesis explains that better.

I think it undermines the presumption of innocence. That should not be allowed to stand.
