I, for one, don't think it would be wise to return to the gold standard, or abolish the post office; the fuss and upset involved in doing this stuff should in any reasonable estimation outweigh the value of ideological purity. It might be some kind of quaint, obsolete socialism to decide that people out in the Great Dismal Swamp ought to be able to send and receive letters and packages at the same price as people in more convenient locations, but it's something we've taken for granted as a society for a long, long time. You just don't throw stuff like that away just because of a book you read.
